Revival in the City

When the people of God walk in spiritual authority, entire cities can change.
That’s exactly what happened in Ephesus when Paul ministered there.

Through his obedience, God performed extraordinary miracles — healings, deliverances, and powerful demonstrations of His presence. But it wasn’t just unbelievers who were transformed. Even those who already believed realized it was time to make a defined shift in their lives.

“Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done.”
— Acts 19:18

The word “now” is powerful.
It marks a turning point.
It shows that something happened in the hearts of God’s people.

They believed in Jesus before — but they were still holding on to things that didn’t belong. Scrolls of sorcery, half-truths, and divided loyalties. When they saw the authority of God on display through Paul, they knew it was time to let go of everything else.

“A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly.” (Acts 19:19)

That moment cost them something. The value of what they burned was worth millions by today’s standards. Yet they chose purity over comfort, devotion over compromise.

And what happened next?

“In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.” (Acts 19:20)

Revival began — not because unbelievers suddenly found faith, but because believers decided to go all in.

The same is true for us today. Revival starts when we stop living with divided hearts. When we let the fire of the Holy Spirit consume everything that keeps us from full devotion.

The church doesn’t need more activity — it needs more surrender.
The moment you say, “I’m done with half-truths. I’m all in for Jesus,” something shifts. Heaven moves. The name of Jesus is lifted high.

Reflection

What do you need to let go of so you can walk in full surrender to Jesus?
What’s the “now” moment God is calling you into — where you say, “No more halfway faith, I’m all in”?

Prayer

Father, thank You for calling me closer to You. I don’t want to live halfway. I choose today to surrender everything that’s held me back. Burn away every distraction and compromise, and let Your Spirit bring revival in me — and through me — so that Your name is lifted high.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
