In keeping with the Vision of Skyway Church – A Hospital, A Training Center, A Launching Pad for Ministry – we offer a variety of support/recovery groups. It is our desire to see people restored from the grief, wounds, and situations that life can bring. We want to see people delivered to health – physically, spiritually and emotionally. This kind of healing prepares people to be effective, productive Christians in the Kingdom of God, free to walk in their destiny.
GRIEFSHARE
From Mourning to Joy Ps 147:3
GriefShare is a program with direction and purpose. With GriefShare, you will learn how to walk the journey of grief and be supported on the way. It is a place where hurting people find healing and hope. This group meets on Wednesdays, 7 PM, Educ. Bldg. Room 604. This class may be joined at anytime.
DIVINE PLUMBLINE
Eph 4:12-13
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: KJV
Divine Plumbline classes are an 8 week study during which you will find the powerful keys to break out of the man-made prisons that you may have built for yourself – prisons of fear, depression and anger. Classes have a definite start and end date. Please call the church office for more information.
MARRIAGE BUILDERS
Matt 11:28-12:1
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” NIV
Marriage Builders is for married couples who desire healing in their relationship. In a day when the divorce rate is high in our society, it is no secret that the enemy of our souls is fighting against the most spiritually powerful union one can enter into. The purpose of this class is to give you tools to “fight the good fight” and not each other. Marriage Builders meets in the gym of the Educ. Bldg. on Wednesdays at 7 PM. This class has a definite start and end date. Please call the church office for more information.
MEN OF VALOR
Col.1:13
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. NIV
Men of Valor is a support group for men to find purpose for their lives. The four core values or pillars of manhood are to provide as a Servant-King, to protect as a Tender Warrior, to teach as a Wise Mentor and to connect as a Faithful Friend. It serves as a support group for those who are struggling to walk in the faith. Men of Valor is a 12 week class and is closed after the third class. This group meets on Wednesdays at 7 PM in building F room 307.
WHEN WAR COMES HOME
For Military Family Members
Ephesians 3:16-19 NKJV
…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, (17) that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height (19) to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
When War Comes Home is a group that will benefit family members who have troops who are preparing to leave for, are serving now, or have already served in a combat situation. The goal is for God to use the materials and facilitators as “Bridges to Healing” for the military families suffering from the effects that combat stress is having or has had on their loves ones. You may join this group at anytime. It meets Thursday evenings at Luke Air Force Base.
BRIDGE TO HEALING
2 Cor 1:3-5 “…the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” NIV
Bridge to Healing is a course designed to benefit soldiers who have returned home from a combat zone and are having difficulty readjusting to civilian life as they once knew it. This twelve-week course will deal with the trauma and hardships that warriors endure in combat zones. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) statistics are among the most shocking in the USA.
