Breaking the Curse of Poverty

Filed under: Pastor Greg's Blog — gbrown @ 2:48 pm

Dear Church Family and Friends:

As we continue our teaching on breaking the curse of poverty, I want to share another concept on how to gain wisdom over accruing new debt. It is easy to say “live within our means,” or to say, “Don’t buy things you don’t have the money for.” But in reality, there are times we feel that we are to advance ourselves or our position when the finances are not there. What should we do? I say, make the steps to advance by faith and proceed as the funds come in. If you are going to purchase something that requires financing and you do not have the money, start studying the purchase by faith. When you know that it is of the Lord to make the purchase then start believing for the exact amount of money you need to come into your life…before you go into debt! Trust God to finance your vision as you move into a new season of supernatural provision.

Attack the Lack 3

Dear Friends and Family:

I am out on vacation as Pastor Dawn and I get some rest and refreshment for the upcoming fall season. I am blessed to continue to share with you some of the thoughts from our Debt Free Living teacher Carl Dasher…

Failure to live a life of discipline will end in foolishness.

  • “He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.” Proverbs 5:23 NIV

A lack of understanding can doom people.

  • “Therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding; their men of rank will die of hunger and their masses will be parched with thirst.” Isaiah 5:13 NIV

The right kind of lifestyle and mindset will prevent lack from entering your life.

  • “The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.” Proverbs 10:21 NIV

Failure is created by a lack of godly advisors.

  • “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” Proverbs 15:22 NIV

  • “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.” Proverbs 11:14 NIV

You will not lack anything the Lord has promised you.

  • “Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.” 1 Timothy 1:7 TNIV

A final thought. . .

Lack is one four-letter word that you want to keep out of your vocabulary and your life.

The scriptures are clear. . .God loves you. . .God hates lack. . .so God never wants you experiencing or manifesting what He hates.

Attack the Lack 2

Filed under: Pastor Greg's Blog — gbrown @ 8:37 am

Dear Friends and family:

I have returned from an awesome time of ministry and training in Colorado with Peter Wagner. It is a wonderful thing to be connected with incredible leaders from around the world. God is speaking a clear word to his Church and we are on track. I am excited to join you again today. We are entering into agreement with our prayers and decrees to break the spirit of poverty. Here is another installment of “Attack the Lack” from our Debt Free Living teacher, Carl Dasher…

  • Giving from your lack will establish supernatural connections.

“For they all gave out of their abundance (their surplus); but she has contributed out of her lack and her want, putting in all that she had on which to live.” Luke 21:4 AMP

  • With God’s direction you will never lack.

“[A Psalm of David. ] THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.” Psalm 23:1 AMP

God does not want you experiencing a lack of wisdom.

  • “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5

Ignorance of God’s Word produces lack.

  • “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.” Hosea 4:6 AMP

Lack also hinders signs and wonders.

  • “And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief (their lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus).” Matthew 13:58 AMP

Lack will prevent you from supernatural connections.

  • “And He marveled because of their unbelief (their lack of faith in Him). And He went about among the surrounding villages and continued teaching.” Mark 6:6 AMP

A reverential fear of the Lord will prevent you from ever lacking anything.

  • “Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.” Psalm 34:9 NIV

Dear Friends and family:

I am in Limon Colorado ministering and then joining Peter Wagner for the Chancellor’s cohort this week. As we continue to break the spirit of poverty I want to share some of Carl Dasher’s teaching, Attack the Lack! Carl leads our “Debt Free Living” course. I would encourage you to join his class next time it is offered.

Carl wrote…

A few days ago, in a very special moment. . .the Lord gave me three words. . ATTACK THE LACK.

As I prayed and pondered what He meant, I felt directed to do a scriptural search on the word “lack.” My first thought was that He wanted me to deal with financial lack, but it soon became obvious that our Heavenly Father wants us attacking lack in every area of our lives. First, let’s look at financial lack. When you move in faith and obedience you will never lack!

God meets every possible need.

  • “Yet we have both straw and provision for our donkeys and bread and wine also for me, your handmaid, and the young man who is with your servants; there is no lack of anything.” Judges 19:19 AMP

God is able to meet your every need regardless of how great or how small.

  • “When they measured it with an omer, he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack; each gathered according to his need.”   Exodus 16:18 AMP

God’s provisions are never ending.

  • “A land in which you shall eat food without shortage and lack nothing in it; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper.” Deuteronomy 8:9 AMP

Lack of money can make you homeless.

  • “If you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you.” Proverbs 22:27 NIV

If you spend money foolishly, you lack good sense.

  • “Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.” Proverbs 12:11 TLB

What can you do to never experience financial lack?

  • Giving to the poor will keep you from experiencing lack.

“Whoever gives to the poor will lack nothing, those who close their eyes to poverty will be cursed.” Proverbs 28:27 NLT

When you’re helping those less fortunate, you will not lack.

  • “That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.” 1 Thessalonians 4:12
